Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK).
The position will report to the ICT Manager and will be responsible for providing technical support to users, evaluating application requirements and design specifications, developing applications that meet specifications as well as, creating and maintaining as-built application documentation.
Key responsibilities:
ยท Configure hardware and software, set up peripherals such as printers or routers, repair equipment, and provide support for computer network users
ยท Support users on computer software or hardware infrastructure issues, as requested through telephone and e-mail communication
ยท Create, configure and load development, test and production databases
ยท Support database migration and cleaning activities
ยท Manage access controls for test and production database
ยท Monitor production database performance and tune databases to optimize performance
ยท Perform database maintenance, backup and recovery tasks
ยท Respond to production database failures and resolve discrepancies
ยท Maintain/fix codes that break in in-house applications
ยท Implement database changes
ยท Write reports, track inventory, evaluate new technologies and develop contingency plans to mitigate software failures.

Job requirements:
1. Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
2. Functional skills: competencies in hardware, software SQL database management, organizational skills and communication skills
3. Good understanding of SQL and general relational database management technologies
4. At least 5 yearsโ experience in systems administration, application development, hardware and software maintenance and user support
5. At least 5 yearsโ experience in database implementation and administration
6. Demonstrated proficiency in Organizational database technologies (SQL Server management, SQL Queries, MS Access, MYSQL and other database technologies)
7. Good grasp of application development technologies in use in Organization today such as HTML, C#, ASP, .NET, Visual Basic.NET, and other appropriate tools in a Microsoft environment
