Parish Accountant
Closing Date: 18 June 2023
Reporting to the Treasurer of the congregation and the Chair of the Parish Finance Committee with a dotted line to the Parish Administrator, the Parish Accountant will provide overall coordination of all financial affairs of the Parish towards effective and efficient ministry.

This is a full-time role based in Nairobi and open to Kenya nationals only.

Key areas of responsibility include handling the various processes of accounting for the income, operational, statutory, and capital expenditure of the Parish. Coordination with the various teams when undertaking projects, procurement, and related contracting. Preparation of timely financial statements, management, and other financial reports as well as maintaining a clean, auditable, and compliant record of the Parish financial affairs. Liaising with the various teams during the preparation of the respective budgets together with their periodic analysis. Maintaining an up-to-date record of the assets of the Parish. Handling key stakeholders such as banks, insurance companies, statutory bodies, auditors and other relevant offices in the execution and fulfilment of the financial functions of the Parish.

Qualifications and Aptitudes
1. Born-again Christian with an observable commitment to Jesus Christ and passion for excellence in Christian ministry
2. High standard of ethics and integrity
3. Holder of a university degree in accounting, finance or related field
4. CPA (K) or ACCA certification
5. At least seven (7) years of accounting experience
6. Must have the drive and disposition to manage a professional financial and accounting function across various processes and departments.
7. Must have good writen and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
8. Must have a proven ability to work effectively with teams, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
